Gara difficile per i piloti TM in Gran Bretagna
Il settimo appuntamento del Mondiale Motocross si è tenuto nel cuore della Gran Bretagna in un week-end assolato e con migliaia di spettatori a fare da cornice.
Aigar Leok, nella classe MX1, è stato autore di una splendida qualificazione al Sabato finendo in settima posizione lottando ad armi pari con i più forti piloti della classe regina.
Nella prima manche in programma la Domenica, il forte pilota estone è riuscito a partire con il gruppo di testa chiudendo al tredicesimo posto dopo essere rimasto a lungo nei top ten. Anche nella seconda manche Aigar è stato velocissimo allo start e dopo alcune curve si trovava in sesta posizione seguito dallo spagnolo Barragan il quale, nel tentativo di superarlo, lo ha centrato con il solo risultato di cadere entrambi. Leok riparte molto attardato e prova a recuperare ma quando è vicino alla zona punti è costretto al ritiro per un problema elettrico causato dal contatto con lo spagnolo.
Leok ha commentato a fine gara: “….qui avevo la possibilità di portare a casa molti punti! Purtroppo nella seconda manche mi hanno buttato giù e ho perso una buona opportunità….”.
Gara diversa per Martin Michek che nella gara di qualificazione del sabato è stato autore di una brutta caduta che gli ha compromesso tutto il week end. Costretto a partire dall’ultima posizione in griglia ha fatto del suo meglio rimontando in entrambe le manche fino al ventiquattresimo posto.
Michek ha così commentato a fine gara: “….. era da tempo che non cadevo così forte! Per fortuna non mi sono fatto male seriamente, ma finire le due manche è stata dura, avevo dolori ovunque….”.

Difficult race for TM riders in Great Britain
The seventh round of the Motocross World Championship took place in the heart of Great Britain on a sunny weekend and thousands of spectators to make a frame.
Aigar Leok, in the MX1 class, was the author of a wonderful Saturday qualifying race ending in seventh position fighting with the strongest riders of the queen class.
In the first heat scheduled for Sunday, the fast Estonian rider was able to start with the head of the group and finished in thirteenth place after having been long in the top ten. Even in the second round Aigar was fast at the start and after some corners he was in sixth place followed by the Spanish Barragan, who, in an attempt to overcome him, he centred him with the only result of falling both. Leok started again from the back and tried to recover but when he was near the point zone he was forced to withdraw because of an electrical problem caused by contact with Spanish.
Leok commented at the end of the race: ".... Here I had the chance to take home many points! Unfortunately in the second heat I was thrown down and I lost a good opportunity .... ".
Different race for Martin Michek than in qualifying race on Saturday was the author of a very bad crash that has compromised his entire weekend. Forced to start from the last position on the row has done his best recovering from back in both heats to twenty-fourth place.
Michek has commented at the end of the race: "... .. It was so long time I had not fell so heavy! Fortunately I did not hurt seriously, but to finish the two rounds was tough, I had pain everywhere….. ".
