GP of Portugal

Rodrig Thain on the podium of the GP of Portugal With a summer typical climate began the Enduro World Championship 2009 in Penafiel, Portugal, around Oporto. With Micheluz and Kvarnstrom still recovering from an injury, Rodrig Thain was able to defend the colours of the pesarese team in a so excellent way bringing his factory TM EN 450F in a third place in the E2 Class standings. Thanks to the hard work done during the winter, Rodrig, was able to be competitive right from the first special test where he recorded the quickest overall time. Always on the fight for the podium, Thain, was penalized in the extreme test losing important seconds and the contact with Johny Aubert, winner of the race. A fourth on Saturday and a third on Sunday allow Rodrig Thain and TM to the third place in the world rankings, demonstrating that the French-Italian duo can fight for the top. Thain has commented at the end of the race: ".... I should be very happy about my result but I'm not so! I was not at ease on the extreme test and this has affected me very much, especially on Saturday. Anyway I look forward, we are only at the beginning and I am confident of the potential that both me and my bike have ... .. ". Good race also for Luca Cherubini also him in a E2 class with a private TM EN 250 2-stroke. Twice tenth and ninth in the provisional world rankings are a confirmation of a renewed competitiveness.
