Rodrig Thain starts with the right foot
With temperatures always below zero and landscapes that suggest the “white weeks” began the WEC 2008.
Many expectations and good intentions of our team even though we knew that at the end this match was been dominated by the Nordic riders.
Rodrig Thain, although he is not a specialist of frozen funds, managed to bring home an important achievement which allows him to look at the next races with great confidence. Always fast, he did not make serious mistakes bringing his factory TM EN 450F at the sixth place on Saturday and Sunday at the ninth. A major achievement that allows him to be in seventh position in the provisional world championship rankings.
Rodrig commented at the end his race: "… .. I’m quite satisfied. I have also been able to push some more but I did not want to compromise the result because it was important for me and for my team to finish just behind the first five riders to not lose contact…… .. ".
Much more difficult race for Luca Cherubini who has had some difficulties in adapting to these low temperatures and conditions of the track, bringing his factory TM EN 250F in the two days respectively in thirteenth place on Saturday and Sunday in the fourteenth in E1 class.
A better result was expected from seventeen-year-old Swedish Robert Kvarnstrom that in the home race only a year ago was placed in second place. Robert compete with a factory TM EN 125 2 stroke and he has been very fast winning a special test, but at the same time too many mistakes and falls not allowed him to bring home the appropriate result.
Next meeting on 29th and 30th March 2008 to Vale de Cambra in Portugal for the second round of the Enduro World Championship.
