Thierry Van Den Bosch won the GP of Italy
At Viterbo was a weekend full of successes for TM and its riders.
Only two weeks after the debut on the pesarese "Factory" bike, Thierry Van Den Bosch takes his first seasonal success in the GP of Italy.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, Thierry was able to use his experience managing to find a good setting for his factory TM SMX 450F.
In time practices on Saturday showed the second best time but he took the Superpole scheduled on Sunday after the warm up, giving '0 .752 to his fellow countryman Thomas Chareyre.
In Race 1 VDB took the head of the race and, despite some attacks from Chareyre, he was able to keep the position until the checked flag. Race 2 started in a heavy rain and Thierry is still the fastest at the start but after a few laps he leaved the Finnish Hermunen to pass, that in these weather conditions is very fast, thinking about the final results.
Van Den Bosch go up on the highest step of the podium of the S1 class and with him also TM, which was missing since 2004, when it won the GP of Italy in Latina with Fabio Balducci.
Van Den Bosch commented at the end of the race: "... .. I am very happy and I want to dedicate this victory entirely to TM. We have worked very well and the feeling with the bike is increasing every day. We plan many tests and I believe that soon I will arrive at 101%, as I like to be ......".
Second place in class S2 for Davide Gozzini. The strong Brescian rider has had some problems with the rear tyre, nevertheless he held out and limited the damages. In times practices Davide showed the third best time, which has failed to improve in Superpole due to a fall. Gozzini Finished third in Race 1 and second in Race 2 behind Adrien Chareyre, same position in the provisional world rankings.
Good race for Andrea Occhini, third in Superpole and author of an excellent fourth place in Race 2, while in Race 1 he concluded eighth.
Alex Serafini is back to the races after two months from the injury. Alex has finished the two motos scheduled respectively in sixteenth and fourteenth place.
Finally, the absolute dominion of TM in the MaxiMoto European championship. Win the Bulgarian Kalin Kulev, second Elio Marchetti, although at equal points, and third Fabrizio Fiorucci, all on TM SMX 660F customers version.
