Davide Gozzini and Thomas Chareyre on the podium of the first GP of the season
Good World start for 747 Motosport -TM Racing Factory’s riders on the speedy track at Castelletto.
Immediately fast on Saturday practices, Davide Gozzini and Thomas Chareyre took the second and third position in time practices a few tenths of a second behind the Aprilia’s French VDB, the fourth Ivan Lazzarini completes the first row.
Same result in Superpole scheduled on Sunday morning where the "Gozzo" can further reduce the gap that separates him from VDB while Thomas remains in third place.
In Race 1 Gozzini had a great start and pasted to the rear wheel of VDB which remain attached for the entire round without giving him breath, many times he tries to attack but the Aprilia’s French is the an expert rider and able to close all the doors not allowed to Davide the opportunity to overcome. Thomas, after a bad start, is unable to retrieve the third position.
Race 2 reproduces the result of the first one although Gozzini, while finishing second, had to cope with the gear box of his bike that did not work as he wanted slowing his course. Thomas Chareyre still third protagonist of a good recovery after another unfortunate departure.
Another story race 3 where "Super Gozzo” rages. He starts fast even if the the hole-shot goes again to VDB. But Davide does not give up and he attacks. The first lap end and the two have a considerable advantage over the rest of the group. Meanwhile, Thomas has yet to recovery from a bad start. Gozzini began pressing the Aprilia’s French and it seems that his TM SMX 450Fi made in Pesaro is faster than the twin cylinder made in Noale. And it is just in the fastest part of the track that Gozzini, around mid-race, stop hesitating and exceeds VDB going to win his first race of the season. Thomas Chareyre, still third, was just approaching the leading couple when he had to slow down because of problems with rear brake of his bike.
The provisional world ranking sees Davide Gozzini in second place just three points from Van Den Bosch while Thomas Chareyre firmly in third place.
Eleven World Championship points earned by Alex Serafini who, from the sixth row of the grid, he ran all three races in recovery.

A reasoned Gozzini commented his race : "..... I would say that the balance of this first race is good! Now the values on the track of my opponents is clear and I like very much the race formula. I had a small gearbox problem in race two readily solved by my team to whom I dedicate the victory of the third heat ..... ".
Thomas also commented his first GP: "...... I’m not very happy, indeed I’m not at all! I never managed to take advantage from my good starting position and therefore to stay close to Davide and Thierry. Only in race 3 I was recovery on them and I’m convinced that I could stay with them until the end if my rear brake didn’t have problems. Probably due to a collision with other riders in the first corners ..... ".
Next meeting May 9th at Busca for the second round of the 2010 International of Italy while the world Championship will have a long break until July 11th where we will find the German Grand Prix.
